Cave Rock was created over 3 million years ago. At one point in time, the Washoe Indians called the monument, The Lady of the Lake. The “Lady” appears in the rock in the form of a woman’s profile looking out to Lake Tahoe. The formation can still be seen today from virtually any point on Lake Tahoe. For an absolutely breath-taking view of Lake Tahoe, taking the short 15-20 minute hike to the top of Cave Rock… contact Cole for more information. One of the most attractive features of the Cave Rock development is its proximity to Cave Rock State Park. The park includes a boat launch, small beach, fantastic fishing, and a picnic area.
The land where Cave Rock Estates currently sits was originally developed during the 1960s. The land was subdivided into parcels ranging in side from 1/3 acre to just over a full acre.
